Biography
Vincent DeMarco is a senior associate based out of the Firm’s Toronto office where he practices in the Firm’s Securities & Investor Protection Group. Vincent has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal and the Commercial List, in private arbitration, and before the Supreme Court of British Columbia. He has also appeared as a prosecutor before various administrative tribunals.
Prior to joining the Firm, Vincent practiced commercial litigation, including disputes relating to securities, contracts, corporate governance, bankruptcy, civil fraud, defamation, real estate, and obtaining injunctive relief. Vincent previously worked in the Toronto office of a leading national law firm.
Vincent graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he represented Canada at the International Championship rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Competition. He also held executive positions with the Legal & Literary Society, the Osgoode Community Enhancement Forum, the Osgoode International Law Society, and the Osgoode Society for Corporate Governance. Vincent also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and has continued to volunteer with Pro Bono Ontario.
Vincent was appointed to the Young Advocates Standing Committee of the Advocates’ Society as one of 40 lawyers under 10 years of call across Canada and is a member of the executive board of the Ontario Bar Association’s Environmental Law section. Vincent is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association.
